You fait de cuisine ( German: From cooking) is one of the oldest cookbooks in Europe, making it one of the key works to open up the food culture of the Middle Ages. It was written by Chiquart, the head chef at the court of Amadeus VIII of Savoy, from 1420.

The Romanist and food historian Terence Scully referred to it as the first real cookbook Europe, because it not only lists the ingredients into individual dishes, but in a variety of dishes as well as detailed instructions on the preparation are. Chiquart gives his readers also indications, as the extensive logistics of a medieval banquet was to deal with.
