Dublin Bus ( Bus Átha Cliath irish [b ˠ ʊs ˠ a ː hə cl ʲ iə ] ) is an Irish bus company based in Dublin. It operates an extensive bus network in Dublin and the surrounding counties and as bearing the brunt of the local public transport.

History

Dublin Bus was established on 2 February 1987 as a subsidiary of the state-owned transport company Córas Iompair Eireann ( CIE). This was based on the Transport Act of 1986. CIÉ The was founded in 1945 as a successor to the Dublin United Transport Company ( DUTC ).
