Due Carrare

Due Carrare is a Northeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9017 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Province of Padua in Veneto. The municipality is situated approximately 14 km south-southwest of Padua. Due Carrare was created in 1995 from the merger of the municipalities of Carrara San Giorgio and Carrara San Stefano. Through the community lead the Canale Biancolino and the Canale Vigenzone canal. The municipality is located in Carrara San Giorgio.

History

The Carraresi or family "of Carrare " is known as masters of the Principality of Padua since the 12th century. Older however, is the abbey of St. Stephen in the village of San Stefano (11th century).

Traffic

By Due Carrare leads the Autostrada A13 from Padua coming towards Bologna. The outer western boundary of the parish is marked by the course of the Strada Statale 16 Adriatica.
