Dunaalmás

Dunaalmás is a municipality in the small area in Tata Komárom-Esztergom county in northern Hungary. In 2008 lived 1,653 inhabitants in an area of 14.77 km ². The village is located 30 km west of Esztergom and 60 km north- west of the capital Budapest.

Dunaalmás lies on the southern bank of the Danube, which is here about 0.6 km wide. The northern shores already belongs to Slovakia.

Through the city runs the road No 10, which runs from Győr via Komárom to Budapest.

The quarries in Gerecse Mountains above Tardos have a special meaning in architecture and art history. Thus, the base of the Neue Burg in Vienna from the white limestone of Dunaalmás.
