History

In ancient times, the area was part of the province of Noricum. In the core Austrian state of Lower Austria lying the place informed the eventful history of Austria.

The municipality was created in 1970 by the merger of the municipalities Gansbach, Gerolding, Kicking and wall.

Population Development

According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 2289 inhabitants. In 1991, the market town of 2025 inhabitants, 1981, 1941, and in 1971, 1911 inhabitants.

The council has 21 seats, mayor of the municipality is Franz Penz, chief officer Erich Galander.

Structures
