Dymokury

Dymokury ( German: Dimokur ) is a municipality in the district of Nymburk in the Czech Republic. Lies 14 kilometers northeast of Nymburk and belongs to the region Středočeský kraj.

History

Dymokury was first mentioned in 1249. It was at that time in possession of a Soběslav. King Wenceslas II gave 1290 as a small town ( oppidum ) designated Dimokur the monastery at Sedlec Kutna Hora. The Monastery sold the rule in several parts. The further changes of ownership Dimokur was no longer referred to as town. 1377 were the parties and a part of the lordship in possession of a Sezema of Bříště, another part of the property of Jakob von Dimokur. 1414 were Václav Jacob called Lacembok, and Zdislav Zahoran of the owner. After several short-term owners came in 1463 as a fief of the Bohemian King George of Podiebrad to Johann Křynecký of Ronow. He united the two parts of Dimokur to a rule, which passed into the possession of Zdeněk of Wallenstein in 1573. His widow, Mary extended the rule to Městec Králové. Her sons sold Dimokur 1614 Albrecht Jan Smiřický of Smiřice had it reconstructed into a Renaissance castle festivities. After his death in 1618 his sister Margaret ( Markéta ), married Slawata, Dimokur inherited, but it lost after the Battle of White Mountain, as all Smiřický possessions were confiscated by the emperor. 1620 Albrecht Wallenstein acquired the possessions, but sold it a year later on Johann Eusebius Khuen of Belasi, the 1625 his daughter Franziska Palffy of Plass stone followed. From her it acquired Field Marshal Wilhelm Lamboy of Corte home. His daughter Anna Franziska sold Dimokur 1673 Count Louis Colloredo- Wallsee. This year belonged to the basic rule: the castle, a brewery, 13 farms, 5 mills, 102 fish ponds, 30 villages and the town Městec Králové. Among the Count Colloredo a three-winged Baroque palace was built on the site of the festivities. They acquired great services to the education of his subjects, put on an extensive castle library and founded an orphanage. 1757 came Dimokur, which belonged to Hradec Kralove until then, the circle Bydžov. 1788 lived in Dimokur 576 inhabitants in 94 houses. 1833 was the manorial Dimokur, by marriage into the possession of Count Czernin of Chudenitz that up to the expropriation in 1945, owned the castle and large estates here.

1850 belonged to the district Dimokur Městec Králové, from 1868 to the district Poděbrady. 1878 Dimokur received railway connection to the line Křinec - Městec Králové. 1879 a schoolhouse was built for five classes. 1960 Dimokur was annexed to the district of Nymburk.

Although Dimokur was for centuries the center of the lordship of the same name, it has not reached the status of a city.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Dymokury Cerna Hora ( Black Mountain ), Dymokury ( Dimokur ) and Svídnice ( Swidnitz ).

Attractions

  • The three-winged castle Dymokury was built instead of a castle by the Counts of Colloredo- Wallsee.
  • The Gothic parish church of the Assumption was built around 1300 and 1723-1724 in Baroque style. The church tower was built in 1760.
