Dyna Lighthouse

Dyna Fyr is a former beacon and a distinctive landmark in the Oslo fjord. It is located about 300 meters south- east of the Bygdøy peninsula opposite the island Nakkholmen about three kilometers from the city port of Oslo directly on the fairway. In 1873, the Port Authority of that city Christiania began with the continuous firing of the Oslo Fjord, and thus the access to the port of Oslo. The beacon on Dyna, a tiny Holm, was built in 1874. First, it was equipped with a simple white petroleum fire, as well as a tocsin. In 1928, the fire was electrified and the bell replaced by a foghorn; since the year 1956, the fire is automated and it lives no more lighthouse keeper on the spar. The buildings were first used privately and serve since 1992 as restaurant and exclusive venue.
