The Dynamo (Russian Динамо ) is a football stadium in the Russian capital Moscow. It offers 37 684 spectators.

History

The stadium was built in 1928 as an athletics stadium north-east of Moscow city center and is located at Leningradski Prospekt, one of the main arteries of the Russian capital. It is located directly across from the Dinamo Metro station, which is served by the line 2. During World War II, the Red Army has pitched in and around the stadium a bearing ( 1943). In the 1940s and 1950s, the Dinamo Stadium was regularly used to host the final round of the Klass A, the Soviet Hockey Championship.

After the war, the order was given to the reconstruction of the stadium by the Moscow government. During the Ice Hockey World Championship in 1957, some matches of the tournament were played in the stadium in front of up to 35,000 spectators. In 1980 here in the first leg of the final was played in the U21 European Championship between the teams of the Soviet Union and East Germany (1-0 ). The stadium has always been home to the capital club Dynamo Moscow, and was occasionally also used by CSKA Moscow, who currently plays its home games at the Luzhniki Stadium.

By 2016, the former Dynamo stadium for the equivalent of one billion euros, with the support of the WTB ( Vneshtorgbank to German: Foreign Trade Bank ) is converted into a multi-purpose arena with shopping center and hotel. Here, the entire stadium is removed, only the listed façade remains. After completion of this arena to be renamed WTB Arena Park. Because of the construction project Dynamo plays its home games at the moment along with the PFK CSKA Moscow, whose stadium, Luzhniki Stadium, is also due to the Soccer World Cup in 2018 under construction in the Arena Khimki in Khimki in the northwest of Moscow.
