Eagle Air (Iceland)

Eagle Air ( Arnarflug ) was an internationally circulating Icelandic airline, which ceased operations in 1990.

History

Eagle Air ( from 1983 Eagle Air of Iceland ) was founded on 10 April 1976 as Arnarflug by former employees of the previously liquidated airline Air Viking. With two Boeing 720 from the collections of Viking Air, the Company adopted on 5 June 1976 the charter flight operations from Keflavík Airport to Palma de Mallorca. Dusseldorf came from the June 12, 1976 added a second goal. Outside the summer season mainly occasional services as well as sub-charter were flown for other airlines. In addition, the company operated from 1978 also in the leasing business. From the mid- 1980s, the financial situation of the Eagle Air continuously, which led to the discontinuation of flight operations and in October 1990 for the subsequent liquidation of the Company in August 1990 worsened.

Since 2004 Founded in 1970, the Icelandic regional airline Airlines Ernir Isafirdi operates under the name Eagle Air
