Earl Haig
Earl Haig is a hereditary British title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, named after the family Haig.
Award
The title was created in 1919 for Field Marshal Douglas Haig. During the First World War, Haig was commander of the British Expeditionary Force on the Western Front.
Subordinate title
With the earldom the title Viscount and Baron Haig Dawick, of Bemersyde were in the County of Berwick, awarded at the same time, which also belong to the peerage of the United Kingdom. Viscount Dawick is led by the heirs title as a courtesy title.
