Earl Lloyd-George of Dwyfor

Earl Lloyd - George of Dwyfor is a hereditary British title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is led by the family of Lloyd George. The title is different than the name, written with a hyphen.

Ancestral home of the family is Ffynone, near Newcastle Emlyn in Carmarthenshire.

Award

The title was created in 1945 for the last Liberal Prime Minister David Lloyd George. This was six years Prime Minister, especially in the second half of the First World War, and more than 50 years been a member of the House of Commons. He died only a few months after award of dignity.

Subordinate title

Simultaneously with the earldom Lloyd George received the title of Viscount Gwynedd, of Dwyfor in the County of Caernarvon, loaned, which also belongs to the peerage of the United Kingdom. This subordinate title is run by the heirs of each title as a courtesy title.
