The next award was presented in 1441 in favor of Edmund Beaufort, who a year later Marquess of Dorset and Duke of Somerset was in 1446. 1464 these titles were forfeited by the 2nd Duke.

The last award was in 1604 to Thomas Sackville, 1st Baron Buckhurst. 1720, the seventh Earl to Duke of Dorset was appointed within the Peerage of Great Britain. With the death of the fifth Duke died out in 1843 the title.
