Eastern National Railway (Austria)

The k.k. Eastern State Railways ( ÖStB ) was the one railway company of the Empire of Austria, who was in charge from 1850 to 1858 with the traffic development of the crown land Galicia and Lodomeria. The origin of the ÖStB located in Krakow Upper Silesian Railway (Polish: Kolej Krakowsko - Górnośląska ), on March 1, 1844 was a privilege for the construction of the Senate of the city of Krakow.

For May 30, 1850 the Cracow - Silesian Upper Railroad was purchased by the state and now renamed as Imperial eastern state railway. The operation led to December 31, 1851 nor the Krakow Upper Silesian Railway, from 1 January 1852 until the state itself

Opened on March 1, 1856 Zweigstrecke of Trzebinia about Auschwitz ( Oświęcim ) to Dzieditz ( Dziedzice finally put forth a purely Austrian connection from Krakow to Emperor Ferdinand Northern Railway.

The routes to the west of Krakow went on 26 June 1858 the KFNB. The remaining routes went on 7 April 1858, the Galician Carl Ludwig -Bahn (CLB ). Thus the ÖStB had been privatized.
