Eastern Sudanic languages
The ostsudanischen languages are an important branch of the Nilo-Saharan languages. They are named after the great landscape Sudan.

- Tama languages
- Nyima languages
- Nera
- Nilotic languages
- Surmische languages
- Daju languages
- Jebel and Eastern Jebel languages
- Tema languages
East Sahelisch
The corresponding grouping at Ehret (2001, p 88 fu p. 70 f ) is called East Sahelisch. It differs from Benders structure primarily by the fact that Honor the individual language Berta and the Rub / Kuliak languages involving:
- Astaborisch ( after an old name for the River Atbara ): Nara ( " Barea " )
- West Astaborisch Nubian
