Eat the Document is a documentary about Bob Dylan's UK tour of 1966, which he undertook with The Hawks and when he first appeared with electric guitar. Dylan directed and cut the film with Howard Alk and DA Pennebaker, who had previously documented in Dylan's UK tour in the film Dont Look Back. The film was originally intended for the series Stage '66 ABC television.

The film was never made available to the public, only some unauthorized copies are owned by collectors. Similarly, there are several copies of a longer section in which a standing drugged Dylan can be seen along with John Lennon in a taxi.

The film includes, among other things, an interview with the visitor a concert in Manchester, who played electric guitar during the second half in which Dylan "Judas" called. Likewise scenes in the hotel as well as a duet with Johnny Cash were filmed.
