Eberdingen is a municipality in the district of Ludwigsburg, Baden- Württemberg. It belongs to the region of Stuttgart.

Geography

The community is located at the intersection of two landscapes: the Strohgäu ( high village / Enz ) and the Heckengäu ( Eberdingen and nut village) in 270 m to 403 m height. By Eberdingen flows the vortex stream which rises in Flacht (municipality Weissach ) and empties into Enzweihingen in the Enz. As a rock formation dominates the shell to find are in the district still remains of old quarries.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the three districts Eberdingen Eberdingen, high village on the Enz and nut village. The districts are spatially identical to the former municipalities of the same name. The official designation of the districts is done by preceding the name of the community and connected with a hyphen adjusted the name of the districts. Among the districts Eberdingen and high village on the Enz each include only the villages of the same name. History

The church today Eberdingen was taken on September 20, 1975 at the municipal reform in Baden- Württemberg by the union of the three municipalities Eberdingen, high village on the Enz and nut village.

Oldest evidence of settlements can be found in the district high village. As early as the 4th millennium BC, here people settled there. Particularly well studied the colonization of this community in the period 750-450 BC, because in this period falls the unausgeraubte Hallstatt chieftain's grave. Is mentioned in a document for the first time 779 high village, while the other two communities are first detected in 1100 in documents of the monastery Hirsau.

With the secularization of the monastery Hirsau 1534 Eberdingen and nut village in 1534 came to Württemberg.

To differentiate from the same name, today's high Remsecker district village was renamed (although it is not an der Enz, but on the plateau south of it) in the high village on the Enz on 19 June 1973. On August 15, 1973 is also the spelling of the other hamlet of Nußdorf in nut village was changed.

Religions

In 1534 the Reformation was introduced in Eberdingen and nut village. high in the village, this was done in 1555. In Eberdingen and nut village there is one New Apostolic congregation. In Nussdorf the United Methodist Church maintains a community, and in Eberdingen there is a " Free Christian Action community eV". Eberdingen is also the headquarters of the German section of the Theosophical Society Pasadena.

Coat of arms and flag

The coat of arms shows in gold from the crests of a green hill Three growing three green rose branches ( the two outer obliquely crossed), each of which carries a five-petalled red rose with green sepals. The municipality flag is red and yellow. Coat of arms and flag were presented to the community on May 10, 1977.

The three roses in the emblem symbolize the three districts, where already the old Eberdinger municipality coat of arms contained a rose. The coats of arms and flags of the three predecessor churches were as follows:

  • Eberdingen: In gold a green grape on the green stalk, from the top left starts a green leaf; top right of a five-petalled red rose; given together with a red and yellow flag on 24 March 1969.
  • High village on the Enz: In a double-armed gold black cross.
  • Nussdorf: Argent, a fünfblättriger green walnut twig. On October 18, 1962, the City received a green-white community flag.

Economy and infrastructure

Plastic and metal processing are the main economic support of the three local churches. The main employer employs nearly 400 people.

Traffic

The closest IC / IRE / ICE station is in Vaihingen an der Enz ( 10 km); the nearest local railway station in Hemmingen ( 6 km). Eberdingen is part of the Transport and Tariff Association Stuttgart ( VVS), among others, with bus connections to Stuttgart -Feuerbach and Vaihingen an der Enz

Education

The municipality is Eberdingen carrier of a primary school that relate to the locations of high village ( Schiller School ) and nut village (Karl Ehmann school) distributed. The former high school or Werkrealschule was lifted. In addition, there are kindergartens.

Supply and disposal

The electricity and gas network in the municipality is operated by EnBW Regional AG.

The district applies Eberdingen 55 % own water and 45% extraneous water from the Strohgäu - water supply. The district high village on the Enz relates 100 % extraneous water from the Strohgäu - water supply. The district Nussdorf refers 40 % own water and 60% extraneous water from the Lake Constance Water Supply.

The waste is taken from the Abfallverwertungsgesellschaft of the district Ludwigsburg mbH ( AVL), a 100 % subsidiary of the district Ludwigsburg. AVL is mandated to carry out the tasks for the prevention, recovery and disposal of waste on behalf of the district Ludwigsburg.

Culture and sights

Museums

The best known is the Celtic heritage museum village high. After the discovery of the prince grave hill in 1977, this museum was built in the high village on the Enz. In the district of high village is still in the gallery at Kunsthof and the Castle Gallery Box Scheuer.

Also worth seeing is the collection Alison & Peter W. Klein nut in the district of the village with approximately 1500 works of contemporary art since the 1980s.

Building

Worth seeing in Eberdingen the late Gothic parish church ( St. Martin's Church ). In nut village are the church of the Holy Cross from the 13th century, the castle of the lords of Nußdorf Reischach and the old Nussdorferstrasse City Hall.
