Eberhard Anheuser

Eberhard Anheuser (* 1805 in Kreuznach, † May 2, 1880 St. Louis, Missouri) was an entrepreneur and brewery owner.

1842 emigrated two brothers from the 10th generation of Kreuznacher Anheusers to America. Eberhard Anheuser made ​​a small fortune as a candle-maker and soap boiler in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. These assets ( $ 90,000 ) he put 1859 in the small in 1852, founded by Georg Schneider Bavarian Brewery, which operated in 1858 under the name "Hammer and Urban". Busch Brewing Company of Washington, Missouri, and Adolphus Busch was equal shareholder of Eberhard Anheuser. The company was renamed in 1879 in Anheuser Anheuser-Busch Brewing Association, and Adolphus was in the following year its president.
