Eborac Island Light

The Eborac Iceland Light is an active lighthouse on the Eborac Iceland, a small rocky island at the Adolphus Channel at Cape York, on the northern tip of Cape York Peninsula in Queensland, Australia.

The 6 -meter-high lighthouse is the most northerly lighthouse of the continent Australia, who manages ships on their paths to the Great Barrier Reef.

Structure and signals

The building on concrete was built in 1921, after which the lantern room is located.

The lighting consists of two light signals, a white signal every two seconds and a red every ten seconds ( Fl. ( 2) WRG 10s). On August 8, 1990, the operation was converted to solar energy.

Accessibility

The lighthouse is operated by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority. The island can be reached only by boat and entering both the location and the lighthouse are not allowed for the public. A helicopter - country course is located in the vicinity of the tower.
