Beautifully Ranke ( Eccremocarpus scaber )

Eccremocarpus is a plant genus which belongs to the family of Bignoniaceae ( Bignoniaceae ). The three their associated species are native to the tropical regions of America.

Description

Eccremocarpus species are semi- shrubby climbing plants, unlike many other members of the family do not have an unusual structure of the phloem their tribes. The branches are deeply grooved and finely hairy. The deciduous leaves are arranged and are divided into two or three leaflets, the middle pinnule is often transformed into a multi- forked tendril.

The racemose inflorescence bracts contain, consist of a few flowers and appear in the leaf axils. The calyx is bell-shaped, membranous and not occupied with glands. The tubular, membranous crown is red or orange to yellow and marked with a green top. It is manned only with short Kronlappen that are not bent back and straight. The four stamens are only slightly beyond the crown. The anthers are glabrous and consist of straight counters. The ovary is ovoid, filled with fine scales and has a constriction at the base. The ovules are more rows in parietal placentation. The ovary is located on a circular base of the flower.

The fruits are woody capsules, which are ovate - elliptical shaped and flattened and covered with Korkporen. The winged seeds are glabrous.

Dissemination

The species of the genus Eccremocarpus come from Colombia to Chile before.

Within the genus are three possible types:

  • Eccremocarpus huianaccapac Vargas.
  • Beautifully Ranke ( Eccremocarpus scaber Ruiz & Pav )
  • Eccremocarpus viridis Ruiz & Pav

Use

A species of the genus (Schön Ranke, Eccremocarpus scaber ) is used as a yearling drawn ornamental plant and is in culture since at least 1824.
