Eckert number

The Eckert number ( Ec) was named after the mathematician Ernst Eckert ( 1905-2004 ) and is a dimensionless parameter of physics. When applied it is in the field of heat transfer and to the calculation of compressible flows. The Eckert number is the ratio of kinetic energy to the enthalpy of a flow.
