Eclipse 400

The Eclipse 400, Eclipse Concept Jet originally ( ECJ ) called, is a very light jet of the former U.S. manufacturer Eclipse Aviation.

Development

The aircraft was presented as a flyable prototype in 2007 surprisingly on the Oshkosh Airshow. Since May 2008, the type could be ordered as an Eclipse 400 for 1.35 million U.S. dollars. The first deliveries were scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2011.

In November 2008, the manufacturer Eclipse Aviation, however, had to file for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. bankruptcy law. From this was a liquidation procedure, at the end was the resolution of the manufacturer in March 2009.

The aircraft is considered as a competitor of the single-beam models Cirrus Jet, PiperJet, Epic Victory and Diamond D - Jet. The Eclipse 400 has a Pratt & Whitney Canada PW615F jet engine and a V-shaped tail. It has room for four people.
