Ed Case

Espennet Edward " Ed " Case ( born September 27, 1952 in Hilo, Hawaii) is an American politician. Between 2002 and 2007 he represented the second electoral district of the State of Hawaii in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Early years

Ed Case visited in Kamuela to 1970, the Hawaii Preparatory High School. Then he studied until 1975 at Williams College in Williamstown (Massachusetts ). This is followed by a law degree graduated from the University of California in San Francisco. After his 1981 was admitted to the bar he practiced this profession.

Political career

Case was a member of the Democratic Party. From 1975 to 1978 he worked on the staff of Congressman and U.S. Senator Spark Matsunaga. Between 1994 and 2002 he was a delegate in the House of Representatives from Hawaii. There he was temporarily faction leaders in democratic elections. In 2002, Ed Case narrowly failed in the primaries of his party for the office of the Governor of Hawaii. After the death of Congressman Ed Case Patsy Mink was elected as the successor to Congress. This mandate he could exercise after two further election victories between 30 November 2002 and 3 January 2007. In the congressional elections in 2007, he no longer applied for re-election to the House of Representatives. Instead, he ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate. 29 March 2009 Case expressed his willingness to stand in the congressional elections of 2010, for the vacant seat in the first electoral district of Hawaii, Neil Abercrombie to previously represented.

Private environment

From his first marriage Ed Case has two sons. Since 2001, he is married to the flight attendant Audrey Nakamura. His cousin Steve Case is the founder of America Online, previously he was chairman at Time Warner.
