Edd Byrnes

Edd Byrnes ( born July 30, 1933 Edward Byrne Breitenberger in New York ) is an American actor.

Life

Byrnes has German and Irish ancestry. When he was 13 years old, his father died. He changed his surname to Byrnes, the surname of his mother's grandfather, and appeared in the movie Marjorie Morningstar as Edward Byrnes.

His most famous role was that of Gerald Lloyd " Kookie " Kookson III in the television series 77 Sunset Strip. Edward Byrnes advanced to become a teen idol. In 1958 he landed, accompanied by Connie Stevens, a chart hit with Kookie, Kookie, Lend Me Your Comb. The song took an ironic reference to the fact that Kookie in the series constantly with a pocket comb, combed their hair.

In the 1960s, he was also seen in three spaghetti westerns. In the movie Grease of 1978, he played the role of Vince Fontaine. He also had an appearance in an episode of the TV series Married with Children ( Married With Children ) and several appearances in the series Murder, She Wrote.
