Eddie & the Showmen

Eddie & The Showmen were an American surf band in 1963 to Eddie Bertrand ( guitar) and Dick Dodd (drums) in Palos Verdes, California formed and has emerged from the Belairs.

Biography

After Eddie Bertrand and drummer Dick Dodd with Paul Johnson had quarreled about the direction of the guitar sounds of Belairs, they founded in 1963 the band " Eddie & The Showmen ," named after the new Showman amp by Fender. While Bertrand wanted to take over the guitar sound of Dick Dale, Johnson clung to the traditional sound of Belairs. " Eddie & The Showmen " advanced in the sequel to one of the most successful live bands of the surf - rock scene and were one of the few surf bands with a record contract with a major label. Their first single Squad Car is a standard of the genre. Although all other singles recorded good sales, " Liberty Records " published no album. As part of the British Invasion mid-60s, the band broke up.

Since 2007, Eddie Bertrand is an active musician and often transgress again with The Elimitors on.
