Edenbridge (Band)

Edenbridge is the name of an Austrian music group that was founded in 1998 by guitarist Arne " Lanvall " Stockhammer together with bassist Kurt Bednarsky, drummer Roland Navratil and singer Sabine Edelsbacher as a front woman.

Stylistically, they specialize in melodic and symphonic metal with progressive tendencies. They describe their own style as " Angelic Bombastic Metal" - and are thus most likely somewhere between bands like Nightwish and Within Temptation.

History

Founded in 1998 as a studio project, the ascent began with the debut album Sunrise in Eden, which was released in 2000 by the label Massacre Records. Following the arrival of Andreas Eibler shooting began the second studio production Arcana. The CD was released in November 2001.

2002 was marked by several successful tours in Europe and Asia. After the Asian tour Bednarsky Kurt left the band. He was replaced by, among others, Mike Koren ( Visions of Atlantis ). Bezw Following the release of CDs A Lifetime in Eden and Shine in 2003. The year 2004 saw again - together with Angra - on a European tour. Immediately following the release of Shine left Andreas Eibler the band and was replaced on the following tour of Martin Mayr. Frank Bindig came as reinforcement on bass for the band.

In 2006, the band released the single For Your Eyes Only, a cover version of the title song from the James Bond film For Your Eyes Only by Sheena Easton, and the album The Grand Design. In November, the band signed a worldwide deal with Napalm Records.

The next album MyEarthDream was published on 25 April 2008. On this album Edenbridge is supported by the Czech Film Orchestra, which is comprised of 65 musicians from the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Czech National Theatre. Lanvall arrangements were implemented by the conductor and composer Enrique Ugarte for the orchestra.

In November 2008, Edenbridge announced that Frank Bindig had decided to leave the band to pursue other projects.

On 4 May 2009 the 1,000 piece limited edition live album Live Earth Dream was released. It contains recordings of some concerts from the year 2008 and will be available only through the website or the fan shop.

On 2 July 2010, the seventh studio album Solitaire came on the market, according to a preliminary release of the first single Higher. It was the first music video that was filmed since the band's formation. Solitaire did not make it into the Austrian charts but reached number 95 in the German album charts.

Since February 2013, Wolfgang Roth Bauer ( ex - Disbelief, Zombie Inc., Third Moon, In Slumber, GodHateCode, Eisblut, Aeoneve and Silence After Carnage ) served as bassist for Edenbridge.

On June 21, 2013, the eighth studio album The bonding was released, but did not make it back into the album charts.
