Edgar Bain

Edgar Collins Bain ( born 14 September 1891 † November 27, 1971 ) was an important American metallurgist and member of the National Academy of Sciences.

He worked for the U.S. Steel Corporation in Pittsburgh ( Pennsylvania) and research in the field of alloying and heat treatment of steels. The structural form bainite is named after him.
