Edgar Bernhardt ( born March 30, 1986 in Nowopawlowka, Soviet Union, now Kyrgyzstan ) is a German football player. It can be used as a two-footed midfielder on many positions.

Club career

Bernhardt began his career at the unterklassigen German clubs Prussia Espelkamp and TuS Levern before he moved to the then third division VfL Osnabrück. His first try for the seniors team denied Bernhardt on the opening day of the Regionalliga 2004/05 season in the away game against FC Cologne 1 II when he came on in the 74th minute for Joe Enochs. After two years with VfL Osnabrück, some brief appearances in the regional league and as a regular player of the second team in the Oberliga Nord Bernhardt moved on to the second team of Eintracht Braunschweig.

After another season as a regular player in the Oberliga Nord he ventured abroad and signed a contract with Dutch second division side FC Emmen. There he came on the opening day of the 2007/08 season in the away game at Go Ahead Eagles Deventer his first appearance in professional football when he came on in the 55th minute for Morten Friis. His first goal in professional football, he scored in a home game on the twelfth game against Helmond Sport. But he could not be added as a regular player and therefore moved to VfL Osnabrück, where he played for the second team in the Oberliga Niedersachsen- West and was allowed to deny an application for the first team in the second division.

In the summer of 2009 he moved to Wuppertal SV in the third division, where he indeed came to more missions, but has been used in more than half of the games as a substitute.

Therefore Bernhardt ventured in August 2010 once again step abroad and joined the Finnish first division Vaasa PS. There he was able to prevail at first as a regular player and extended his end of the season expiring contract by one year to 31 December 2011. However, his contract despite very good performance ( 3 goals, 7 assists) was not renewed after the 2011 season, which is why he since 1 January 2012 has been without a club. In the meantime, he completed a trial in November 2011, the Polish first division club Legia Warsaw, where he also came in a friendly used. From an obligation, however, was the exception.

End of May 2012 took Bernhardt then in Finland a new employer. The first division side FC Lahti took him until the end of the 2012 season under contract. There he was at first team regular, scoring two goals in ten games.

After only two and a half months Bernhardt moved in early August to the Polish second division KS Cracovia, where he signed a one year contract until the end of June 2013 with an option for another year. There he established himself immediately as a regular player.
