Edgar Bronfman, Jr.

Edgar Miles Bronfman, Jr. ( born May 16, 1955 in New York City ) is an entrepreneur ( Seagram, Vivendi Universal) as well as a film producer and songwriter. He is Managing Director of Endeavor.

Family

Edgar Bronfman is one of five children of Edgar Miles Bronfman Sr. and Ann Loeb and a grandson of Samuel Bronfman. In 1979, he married Sherry Brewer, again in 1993, Clarissa Alcock. He has a son named Benjamin.

Life

1973 Bronfman began a songwriting career under the pseudonyms Junior Miles and Sam Roman. In 1982, he produced " The Border ", which was a flop. In 1994 he became the president of Seagram and was instrumental in creating the conglomerate Vivendi Universal, whose vice chairman, he was. In 2004 he bought with a consortium of investors, Warner Music Group and began restructuring the company through massive job cuts of about 20 percent.
