Edgartown is a city in the U.S. state of Massachusetts on the island of Martha 's Vineyard off the coast of Cape Cod in the United States and the county seat of Dukes County.

Part of the city Edgartown is the small island of Chappaquiddick, which was founded in 1969 known due to errors caused by Senator Edward Kennedy traffic accident in which one person was killed and around the world.
The city was the location for the movie Jaws and thus the film set for the fictional place Amity.
