Edificio Lapido

The Edificio Lapido is a building in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo.

Also referred to as Palacio Lapido or Palacio de la Tribuna Popular building located on Avenida 18 de Julio ( 948-950 ), corner Wilson Ferreira Alduante in Barrio Centro. The residential purposes with apartments, retail and office spaces equipped multifunctional building, the former headquarters of the 1960 set Uruguayan newspaper La Tribuna Popular evening. Was designed, erected in the style of Expressionism 1929-1930 building by the architects Juan Aubriot and Ricardo Valabrega. The year 1933 is mentioned as a completion date.

Since 1989, the building is classified as Monumento Histórico Nacional.
