Edmond Pottier

Edmond François Paul Pottier ( born August 13, 1855 in Konz, fr: Consarbrück near Trier, † July 4, 1934 in Paris) was a French art historian and archaeologist.

Pottier was a curator at the Louvre. The Corpus vasorum Antiquorum, an international research project to research and publication of ancient pottery goes back to his initiative. From 1922 to 1934 he was director of the company.

Along with other scientists from the Louvre as René Dussaud he was editor of Syria, which was published from 1920 to the Institut français d' archéologie de Beyrouth in the Parisian publisher Paul Geuthner.
