Edna Arbel

Edna Arbel (Hebrew עדנה ארבל; born 1944 in Jerusalem) is an Israeli lawyer and Judge of the Supreme Court of Israel.

Edna Arbel 1969 lawyer. In 1972, she began her tenure at the central district attorney's office and in 1984 the district prosecutor. In 1988 she was appointed as a judge of the District Court of Tel Aviv. She was appointed attorney general in 2004 and to the Supreme Court of Israel in 1996. Her appointment was for a considerable debate.

She has prepared against Ariel Sharon and his sons an accusation of corruption and impeachment. This 2004 announced by her accusation caused considerable debate regarding the prerequisites of impeachment for an Israeli prime minister. The case was closed by the Attorney General Menachem Masus eventually.
