Edor Hjukström

Edor Albrekt Hjukström ( born May 8, 1916 in Sorsele, † October 27, 2002 in Stockholm) was a Swedish officer, most recently in rank Lieutenant Colonel, and was at the Olympic Winter Games in 1948 as a lieutenant in the Swedish team at the Vorführbewerb military patrol race, which in this discipline won the bronze medal.

Biography

Edor Hjukström was the youngest son of a master hunting and had three brothers. After attending primary school, he worked for three years in the forestry and entered 1933 as a volunteer in the Umeå in Västerbotten Regiment at. In 1937 he graduated from the Armens Underofficersskola in Uppsala the sergeant training and gained a university entrance qualification. 1939 won the Armeeskimeisterschaft and was zuversetzt as an ensign in 1942 the Dalarna Regiment ( Dalregementet ) in Falun. 1941, 1942 and 1944, he participated in military patrol runs of Dalarna Regiment. In 1944 he was promoted to lieutenant and in 1945 he was Armeeskimeister. From 1946 to 1948 he was platoon leader of the hunter school in Kiruna. In 1950 he was promoted to Kapten. From 1950 to 1951 he attended the War College ( Krigshögskolan ) and was from 1953 to 1955 the general staff candidates. In 1962 he was promoted to Major, then was deputy battalion commander and responsible for training in the battalion. In 1966 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and the Army Staff ( Arméstaben ) of the Swedish army chiefs zuversetzt.
