Eduard Linkers

Eduard Linkers, actually Ludwig linker ( born October 11, 1912 in Czernowitz, Austria - Hungary, † April 3, 2004 in Wartenberg, Germany ) was an Austrian actor.

Life

After graduation, a native of the Austro-Hungarian Duchy of Bukovina linker visited the Elevenschule the Viennese popular theater with Rudolf Beer and Rolf Jahn. He received his first theater engagement in Klagenfurt. From 1931 to 1938 worked as a linker actor and cabaret at various theaters in Vienna (among other Theater an der Wien and Theater in der Josefstadt ).

Under the Nazi regime in Austria linker, whose father was a Jew, prohibition received. Instead, he worked between 1938 and 1945 as an English teacher in Prague.

After the war, the linker returned to his former profession and played 1946-1950 twelve main and title roles in Czech movies. He played mostly shady and inscrutable characters as in the science fiction film Krakatit on the novella by Karel Capek. From 1951 linker played in numerous theaters in Germany, as in Munich ( Munich Studio Theater, State Theater ), Berlin ( Freie Volksbühne Berlin ), Vienna ( Theater an der Wien Raimund Theater ), Frankfurt as well as in numerous touring theaters.

In 1935 linker was in Henry Koster's Comedy Catherine the last his feature film debut. He first played minor roles, and later larger roles in productions such as Georg Wilhelm Pabst's drama It Happened on July 20th ( with Bernhard Wicki as Stauffenberg ), in the Heinz Erhardt comedies The domestic tyrant and the last pedestrian in The Marquise of O .. by Heinrich von Kleist and the Hermann Hesse adaptation Steppenwolf (with Max von Sydow ).

In addition, the polyglot linker also worked often in international productions, as directed by Orson Welles in the thriller Mr. Arkadin, as Lt.. Zimmermann alongside Rock Hudson in the Hemingway adaptation in another country, in the Terry -Thomas comedy ratted next Serrault in French science fiction drama as well as in Claude Chabrol's Malevil miniseries Fantômas

In addition, the linker were numerous guest appearances in television series such as The Commissioner, Derrick, The Old Man, Commissioner Freytag and Forestry House Sokolov.
