Eduard Shafransky

Eduard Moissejewitsch Schafranski, Russian Эдуард Моисеевич Шафранский, English transcription: Eduard Shafransky, ( born October 16, 1937 in Krasnoyarsk, † 18 December 2005 in Yekaterinburg ) was a Russian classical guitarist and composer.

Life

Eduard Schafranski studied from 1961 to 1965 classical guitar at the Tchaikovsky Music Academy in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg ), where he later, the Ensemble for Early Music Renaissance and founded the festival April evenings initiated. In his last years, Schafranski devoted to composing and created a series of works for guitar. In 2002, he became acquainted with the internationally renowned Austrian guitarist Johanna Beisteiner know, the first time aufführte several of his works, including the piece Caravaggio oggi for guitar solo, of which also a video clip in the Hungarian label Gramy Records was published.
