Eduardo White

Eduardo Costley White ( born November 21, 1963 in Quelimane, Mozambique ) is a Mozambican writer and poet.

Biography

Eduardo White is of English descent on the paternal side. His grandfather was an Englishman, his father was born in the province of Tete near the Malawian border. His mother is from Lisbon. After a three-year training at the Instituto Industrial White worked in a managerial position in a trading company. In 1984 he founded the magazine Charrua, which played a decisive role in the development of Mozambican literature after independence. He is a leading member of the Mozambican Writers' Association ( AEMO ).

Work

White has published numerous books of poetry, many of which were excellent. He was elected Mozambican writer of the year 2001. One is pulling through his literary work theme is that of love.
