Edward Glaeser

Edward Ludwig Glaeser ( born May 1, 1967 in New York City ) is an American economist. He is Professor of Economics at Harvard University.

Life

Edward Glaeser attended the Collegiate School in New York City by 1978 until 1984. Afterwards, he studied economics at Princeton University (Bachelor 1988). At the University of Chicago in 1992 he became the Ph.D. doctorate. Since 1992 he is a professor at Harvard.

Work

Glaeser's research focus is the Urban Economics. He published papers on urban growth, segregation, crime, and housing and real estate markets. His special interest is the role of geographical proximity in innovation.
