Edward James Olmos
Edward James Olmos ( born February 24, 1947 in Los Angeles, California, USA) is an American actor of Mexican descent. He also worked as a director and producer.
Life
As early youth avid baseball player Olmos decided at the age of 13 years for a career as a rock singer. In the 1960s and 1970s, he was so remarkable success in appearances in clubs on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. For his starring role in the Broadway play Zoot Suit, he received the 1978 Tony Award. A friend advised him then to switch to acting. His best-known roles are " Gaff " in the cult film Blade Runner and " Lt. Castillo " ' in the television series Miami Vice. He was nominated as Best Male Actor in Stand and Deliver for an Oscar in 1989. In 1992 he made his debut as a director in the law of force. Golden Globe he won twice as Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Mini - Series or TV Movie in 1986 for Miami Vice and 1995 for flame resistance.
