Edward Kłosiński

Edward Kłosiński ( born January 2, 1943 in Warsaw; † 5 January 2008 Milanówek ) was a Polish cinematographer.

Life

Edward Kłosiński graduated in 1967 his camera training at the Film School in Łódź successfully. 1972 was Kłosiński his film debut; In 1973, he worked for the first time with Krzysztof Zanussi together. Andrzej Wajda hired him in 1974 for his film The Promised Land.

Since the work with Wajda in the 1970s Kłosiński one of the outstanding Polish cameramen who could show also international successes. In addition to film work, he was also responsible as a light director for theater productions by Andrzej Wajda, Magda Umer, Andrzej and Krystyna Janda Domalik. In Germany he worked regularly with Dieter Wedel and Claude Rudolph. He was married to actress Krystyna Janda.

Edward Kłosiński died 5 January 2008 in Milanówek from lung cancer. He was buried in the Protestant cemetery in Warsaw.
