Edward Kmiec

Edward Urban Kmiec ( born June 4, 1936 in Trenton) is an American priest and Bishop Emeritus of Buffalo.

Life

Edward Urban Kmiec received on 20 December 1961, the ordination to the priesthood for the Diocese of Trenton.

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on August 26, 1982 in Trenton, and Titular Bishop of Simidicca. The Bishop of Trenton, John Charles Reiss, donated him on 3 November of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were George William Ahr, Bishop Emeritus of Trenton, and James John Hogan, Bishop of Altoona - Johnstown.

On October 13, 1992, he was appointed Bishop of Nashville and introduced into the office on 3 December of the same year.
