Edwidge Danticat

Edwidge Danticat ( born January 19, 1969 in Port-au -Prince, Haiti ) is an American writer. 1971 her father emigrated to the United States, the mother followed him in 1973. Edwidge Danticat followed them until 1981 at the age of 12 years in Brooklyn, she grew up with an aunt.

In 1983 she published her first article in a newspaper, in which she describes her emigration to the United States. Danticat studied literature at Barnard College and Brown University.
