Edwin Plimpton Adams

Edwin Plimpton Adams ( born January 23, 1878 in Prague; † 31 December 1956) was a physicist at Princeton University.

He studied at Cambridge (Mass. ), Berlin, Göttingen and Cambridge ( Engl ), received his doctorate in 1904 in Cambridge (Mass. ) and was in physics at Princeton University Professor since 1909. In 1945 he became Professor Emeritus there. Since 1915 he was a member of the American Philosophical Society.

Among others, he co-authored with the mathematician RL Hippisley the well-known reference book Smithsonian Mathematical Formulae and Tables of Elliptic Functions, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, 1922.
