Efkan Ala

Efkan Ala ( * 1965 in Oltu ) is a Turkish politician of the ACP and Minister of Interior of Turkey.

Life

Ala was born in 1965 in Oltu in the province of Erzurum and studied political science at the University of Istanbul. From 1988, he worked for two years in the province of Sakarya. After a one-year training course in the UK, he was appointed District ( Kaymakam ) and worked two years in a Dernekpazarı, Trabzon and Kabataş. Then Ala was deputy governor of the province of Tunceli. After Ala had worked in the interior and the Ministry of Education, 2003 he was provincial governor in the province Batmann. On September 14, 2004, he was appointed governor of the province of Diyarbakır, where he remained until 2007. On 10 September 2007, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called him to his undersecretary.

Following the resignation of Interior Minister Muammer Güler after corruption investigations Erdoğan Ala appointed on December 25, 2013 as the new interior minister.
