Egerberk

The castle Egerberk, also Egrberk, Lestkov ( German Egerberg, Egerburg ) is located in the mountains south of Doupov Klášterec nad Ohri ( Klášterec Eger) in the Czech Republic. From the once stately castle larger parts of the outer walls and the two powerful Palase are still preserved.

History

Egerberg was built around 1241 by the Lords of Egerberg, walked to the middle of the 14th century through to the Lords of Schoenburg, 1386 to Henry of Skopek of Dauba, 1411 to Nicholas of Prague in 1422 and at Wend of Ilburg.

In the eighties of the 14th century, this was then expanded by Heinrich Skopek of Dubé († May 6, 1395 ) to the present size, which equaled a new building. There was a castle with two large Palasbauten, but without the otherwise generally conventional donjon or residential tower. Attached the castle was through walls with tower-like, inwardly open entrance gates.

Ilburg was attacked on Whit Saturday, 1444 by his neighbor William of Schoenburg, caught and thrown into the Tower, where he died of starvation in a bundle of hay and a jug of water. Wilhelm von Schoenburg lent itself to Egerberg and sold it in 1448 to the infamous Jacob of Wrzessowitz, but had to return the unlawful possession of Botho of Ilburg in 1457, whereupon he Egerberg ceded to Bosso by Vitzthum in 1460. Dietrich and Georg von Vitzthum sold the property on January 26, 1557 her brother Felix Bohuslav of Lobkowitz and hatred stone. His son Bohuslaw Joachim von Lobkowitz sold the castle with all the accessories to Leonard Stampach of Stampach in 1591. In 1880, tourism was supported by the Erzgebirgskomitee under the leadership of J.
