Egg an der Gunz ( officially: Egg adGünz ) is a municipality in the Swabian district of Lower Allgäu region and a member of the administrative community Babenhausen.

Geography

Egg adGünz is located about 15 km north- west of Memmingen in the Danube -Iller region in central Bavaria.

Expansion of the municipal area

The municipality consists of the districts Egg ad Günz, Egger forest, Engishausen and Inneberg.

History

Egg an der Gunz belonged to the imperial abbey Ottobeuren. 1486 here was during the Reformation, was born, named after the local name John Eck, the opponent of Martin Luther.
