Eggmühl–Langquaid railway

Called The railway Eggmühl long- Quaid, also local railway Hemlock long- Quaid or Laabertalbahn, is a standard gauge branch line in Bavaria. It runs from Eggmühl, a district of hemlock (Oberpfalz ) after long- Quaid and operated by the RSE Rhein- Sieg-Eisenbahn GmbH.

History

The line was opened in 1903. The freight was then performed until 1964 with steam, as with diesel locomotives. In 1968, passenger services were set. On June 1, 1999, the freight was discontinued. In collaboration with a local initiative and local politics, the Rhein- Sieg-Eisenbahn took over on 1 January 2000 the section Eichbühl - Lanquaid by DB Netz AG; five years later the section Eggmühl - Eichbühl was added. The freight transport is conducted since 2001 with a locomotive of type MV9 of Orenstein & Koppel, which was bought by the sugar factory Zeil am Main.

The railways stations Eggmühl, hemlock and long- Quaid attends the Rhein- Sieg-Eisenbahn in cooperation with DB Schenker Rail Germany with trains; there are quays available. On some Sundays and public holidays and passenger rides are offered; the schedule is printed in the timetable of Deutsche Bahn.
