Egidio Maria of Saint Joseph
Giles Mary of St. Joseph (born: Francis Pontillo; * November 16, 1729 in Tarentum, † February 7, 1812 in Naples) was an Italian Franciscan and saint of the Roman Catholic Church. Pontillo, who worked as a craftsman previously occurred, the age of 24 at the Franciscan order and was given the religious name of Giles Mary of St. Joseph. From 1759 he lived in a convent of his order in Naples. Giles worked within the Community as a cook, janitor and begging brother. In addition, he used the sick.
Giles was in 1888 by Pope Leo XIII. blessed and canonized in 1996 by Pope John Paul II.
