Eglė Balčiūnaitė

Egle Balciunaite ( born October 31, 1988 in Siauliai, Lithuanian SSR, USSR) is a Lithuanian middle distance runner who specializes in the 800 -meter distance.

She qualified as a sole Lithuanian 800 -meter runner for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, where she was eliminated in the semifinals and thus came in 20th place. In the U23 European Championships 2009 in Kaunas, Lithuania she finished sixth in the final of the 800 meters.

At the World Indoor Championships in Doha in 2010 they reached the finals and was there with a new Lithuanian state indoor record of 2:01,37 min the Fifth. She also holds the state indoor record for 400 meters.

For the first time under two minutes she was on 22 July 2010 the Diamond League in Monaco when she reached a time of 1:59,29 min.
