Egmating is a community in the Upper Bavarian district of Ebersberg and a member of the administrative community Glonn.

Geography

Egmating located in the Munich region about 16 km west of Grafing, 27 km south-east of Munich and 20 km from the district town of Ebersberg. Connection to the S -Bahn consists in the neighboring towns Aying (5 km ) and height Church Siegertsbrunn ( 7 km), which is A99 (junction Ottobrunn ) 10 km, and the A 8 (junction Hofoldinger forest ) within 12 km.

History

Egmating belonged to Baron von Hornstein. The village was part of the Electorate of Bavaria and formed a closed Hofmark. In the village is from this period that Egmating castle.
