A new Shura Council ( the upper house of the Egyptian parliament ) is in Egypt in 2013 in less than six months after the new House of Representatives - held has started working - as envisaged in the new constitution. He will now have 150 members: 15 are appointed by the President, while 135 are elected.

Previously been in a referendum on 15 to 22 December 2012, the new draft constitution, as he was drafted into the dominated by Muslim Brotherhood and Salafists Constituent Assembly, adopted by the voters. Probably in the fall of 2013 the multiple shifted Egyptian parliamentary elections take place in 2013, and after the meeting of this new lower house of Shura Council is elected.
